Obscured vision and a failure to yield were determined to be causes in the incident

CHICAGO, IL – One person was injured as a result of a pedestrian collision Thursday evening in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago’s South Side, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The incident took place in the 7100 block of South Halsted Street at around 7:49 p.m.

Officials have not released a sequence of events leading up to the crash or any information about the involved parties, but the primary cause of the incident was found to be obscured vision at the intersection, involving stationary objects like street signs, tree limbs, and buildings. A failure to yield was listed as the secondary cause.

One person sustained “non-incapacitating” injuries, but it was not confirmed whether the injured person was the pedestrian.

The crash report also indicates that property damage was projected to cost $500 or less in repairs.
